Mojo is a 5 1/2 year old Yorkie who has run into some medical problems. He has a Liver Shunt.

Our goal has been met...
There is no need to donate
any more funds..

Mojo received the medical attention he needs to live........

Mojo received his surgery at 8am Nov 19th 2008.. Dr Oaks from the Veterinarians Specialists called us at 9:30am with the great news. Dr Oaks is real happy with the results. He was able to insert the ring that will shut off the shunt successfully.

We should be able to pick Mojo up tomorrow.

Today's medical technology is just amazing. It will take a few weeks for the ring to close and totally shut off the shunt.  After which Mojo is expected to have a normal life..

We do have to await a liver biopsy to see if there's any issues, but the Dr did not see anything outside of having a small liver , which will grow normal after time.

This is the best news we could have received. There were concerns on  several things that could have been or gone wrong. Thank God these conditions and occurrences did no happen....

We look forward to Mojos return home and his full recovery.

We will never forget the many who helped us save Mojo. Every minute we spend with him will reflect your kindness to our hearts.. We truly love you all .....

God Bless everybody .

Love Ken, Sandra and MOJO.......

" The support has been just awesome.
I can't thank everybody enough for their
donations and efforts to save my dog.

Let's all give Mojo a prayer to have a
successful surgery and recovery.."

Mojos owners Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thomas are both disabled with limited income. They have used all their cash and resources to pay for his veterinarian bills to date. Some $900.00 over the last two months.

We need help to get Mojo the medical attention he needs. He needs surgery to close off the shunt and remove some kidney stones.

Surgery is a common treatment for Liver Shunts. His surgery will cost  $2500.00. Once completed the condition is cured.
If not treated, he will die.

There are many agencies that help out low income situations. These resources are drained due to the economy. Simply nobody is donating to these great agencies.

MOJOS CONDITION

10-18-08
On 10-14-08 Mojo had his third episode. Liver Shunts detour some of his blood supply away from liver functions. His blood does not get the toxins filtered, which is the livers main function.

This episode was so bad we thought he was going to die. We had no luck getting a specialist to take him in without proper funds. We simply could do nothing but wait, hope and pray. His episode lasted some 34 hours. He was so exhausted he could not move. Euthanizing was a consideration. A very painful decision to say the least.

Fortunately he woke the next day much better.

His issues will not go away without surgery. Mojo has to take medication twice a day at least through the surgery. We are comforting him as best we can.

After pawning some possessions We have exhausted any of our means to pay for his surgery.

We do not know if he will make it through yet another episode.

We pray for Mojos well being.

The Tampa Bay Veterinarians Specialists informed us that
we reached our goal. This is such great news. To have raised this type of funding in less than two weeks is a testimonial of the degree of human kindness that exist within our community.

A few area bands donated time and money to help make this happen.
As well, We had two very generous donations made anonymously that covered almost half of our goal. Without these efforts and the many others who donated, Mojo would have been in deep trouble.

Now its just a matter of getting through Mojos surgery.

God Bless everybody..
It's because of you that we can look forward to many years of the fulfillment of having such a great pet as a family member..

Note - No more donations will be
 accepted to this account ...
We have met our goal.........
